About The Artist

Anne is a Virginia artist, and has spent most of her life near the water. She presently resides on the beautiful Eastern Shore of VA.

The inspiration for her work is nature, whether it be a landscape, the figure, or abstractions. She begins by painting on site, responding to what is before her. She then comes back into her studio to finish. She will often take sections of a painting and make new compositions from these small sections. She strives in all of her work to get to the essence of her subject. She does this through vigorous brush work, heightened color, and interesting use of line.

She is both a student and teacher. She continues to learn through classes and workshops. As a teacher, she is able to share her enthusiasm for painting with others through workshops and private lessons. She believes that we all have the ability to create and to express who we are through our art.
